{Kids Mini Pumpkin Crafts}

Last season we opted to do fun mini pumpkin crafts. We thought this would be a little more fun for the wee ones than the typical pumpkin craving process...standing by and watching while the parents cut away. We did a pumpkin painting party with our little friends (below) AND had fun with a kid friendly kit such as this one (above). Kits typically come with a hammer, sticks, glitter dowels and a poker that are kid friendly with supervision of course.

For the group pumpkin painting event we simply purchased mini pumpkins, painting supplies, smocks and snacks. We basically let the kids go for it and watched the fun unfold.

Just be sure they don't mistake the paint for a snack. LOL!

But this little crew sure did enjoy themselves! What sort of kids events do you have planned for this season?

{Super Simple Party Favor -- Candy Dipped Oreos}

Do you ever find yourself in last minute party chaos?? I know around here we get that way occasionally. Both Rachel and myself try our darnedest to get ahead of the game by tackling projects early if we can.. But sometimes things creep up and you and your grand plans well,,,you just ran out of time for them. So if you ever find yourself in that predicament for your party favor I'm here to show you a fun and yummy favor that even the kiddos can help out with.

What You Need:
-mint stuffed Oreo's
-candy melts (any color will work)
-Andes mints crumbles, found in the baking aisle next to the chocolate chips
-cellophane bags
-washi tape in your choice of color or you could use do ribbon or twine

Method:
1. Melt the candy melts in microwave or on the stove per package direction.
2. Dip Oreo halfway into the candy melt.
3. Before the candy melt firms, sprinkle Andes mints crumbles on it.
4. Place on baking shelf lined with wax paper and refrigerate until firm.
5. Place a couple of cookies into a cellophane bag and tie up with a piece of washi tape or twine.
Adding a super cute printable tag would make these even more fab!

What's your go to party trick to pull off a fantastic party?

{Sugar & Spice and Everything Nice Invite}

I recently designed a sweet little invite for a friend and could not be more thrilled because sugar and spice was actually nicknames for twin sis and I when we were growing up so it was definitely a fun piece to create. And I even hand lined the envelopes in kraft paper for an added touch. :)

What do you think of this charming baby shower theme?

{Mixed Media Kids Art}

We had some fun painting at home the other day and I was looking for a way to make the project something special. After a quick search on Pinterest I found something easy and fun to use as an inspiration for our project.

We started by finger painting on a nice thick matte photo paper (I use Staples brand).

Then we snapped a couple of cute pictures outside.

I cropped and outlined the pictures in Adobe Illustrator. Then asked the kids a few questions about their favorite things and Voila! A unique project that is made up of finger painting + current picture + favorite things makes for some mixed media awesomeness that can displayed at home for the kiddos to be proud of! What do you think for our project?
